Knickerbocker Place
Knickerbocker Place is a 20,000 square foot neighborhood retail center that combines restaurants with other specialty retailers. The center is located on Monroe Street on Madison’s near west side. Monroe Street is well known as one of the most prestigious and culturally vibrant retail corridors within the city. Comprised of two sites divided by Knickerbocker Street, this project was developed in 1993 and sits just one block from scenic Lake Wingra and the surrounding University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum.
To capture the flavor of the surrounding area, the project features design details in keeping with the 1900s character of the neighborhood. In 1996 the Wisconsin Society of the American Institute of Architects awarded Knickerbocker Place its highest design award.
